The building was recently up for sale by the City of Tampa through an RFP type of process (similar to the information on the grocery on Columbus posted back in February). It was moved to that location by DOT for the expansion of I-4. The official boarding house name is the Cueto-Fernandez Boarding House - more information and some great "before" pics can be found here:
Based on the current zoning and the method which the city renovated the building - I believe that they were interested in a buyer that would use this building as 2 rentable or condo type flats (upstairs and downstairs). Each floor was fitted out with a kitchen, 3 bedrooms and two baths and would function nicely as a residence.
The city RFP process closed about a month ago, so the city should have information on the new owner by now. The best person to contact is Wanda Thompson with the City - 274.8915.
